When your business is launching a new product or service, a one-and-done announcement won’t drive sustained, profitable customer enthusiasm. There is a process for marketing your launch that involves building anticipation, rolling out announcements, and staying top of mind with your audience well after release day.

To help you work through this process—from pre-planning to post-launch growth across your website, email, and social media channels—we’ve devised this sample 30 Day All-Inclusive Digital Marketing Launch Plan you can use for your next promotion.

We based this plan on a Monday-Friday schedule, so it assumes your 30-day launch will have weekends off. If this timeline isn’t aligned with your schedule, business hours, industry best practices, or data on your target audience’s peak engagement times, please adjust it as needed. Your launch plan should work for you!

Week 1: Pre-Launch Preparation

Day 1 (Monday): Determine Your Target Audience

Identify and define your target audience. Who is your customer persona for this specific product or service? Understand their needs, preferences, and pain points. Where is your customer? Figure out which social media networks they’re on most and what keywords they search for.

Day 2 (Tuesday): Craft Compelling Website Copy

Develop clear, persuasive copy for your website. Highlight how your new product or service resolves your audience’s needs and describe its unique value. Don’t forget to make your call to action prominent.

Day 3 (Wednesday): Create Engaging Website Visuals

Design visually appealing website graphics that feature your new product or service. Always use high-quality images and incorporate your brand elements. Make sure that your website is fast, properly optimized for mobile, and as accessible as possible.

Day 4 (Thursday): Build Your Email List

Set up a lead generation form on your website to collect email addresses. Explain how email subscribers benefit from being on this list compared to just checking the website organically or following your brand on social media. To incentivize signing up, you can also offer discounts, free trials, or exclusive content.

Day 5 (Friday): Social Media Teaser Campaign

Start a teaser campaign on your business’s social media platforms. Share sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes content, and countdown posts/Stories to generate excitement. Be sure to reshare any press or media announcements about your impending launch, as well as any user-generated content expressing excitement or curiosity about the launch.

Week 2: Launch Announcement

Day 6 (Monday): Launch Day

Officially launch your product on your website! Ensure all website elements are updated to showcase the new product/service prominently. By this point, all links and landing pages should point to the correct places, your analytics settings should be configured to capture every click, and the assets behind automated triggers should be ready to keep leading your customers down the marketing funnel.

Day 7 (Tuesday): Email Campaign Launch

Send a targeted email to your subscribers announcing the new product/service is active. Include those compelling visuals, the benefits outline, and the calls to action you prepped! Make sure your email campaign tool (such as Mailchimp or Kit) can also drip-feed more emails to your contact list—this won’t be your only email about the launch, as many of the strategies over these 30 days can be promoted in email content.

Day 8 (Wednesday): Social Media Blitz

Amplify the launch across your social media networks. Share engaging content about what’s new, customer testimonials about what’s great, and encourage user-generated content that you can repost (and more ideas that you can find at the end of this blog—keep reading!). Plus, you can slip in a note that your email subscribers already got the news, so if your social media followers want to know about launches first, here is the link to sign up.

Day 9 (Thursday): Influencer Collaboration

Collaborate with influencers in your industry for shoutouts or reviews, leveraging their audience to increase visibility and their status to boost your reputation. Check out our “Influencer Marketing Campaign Hiring Checklist” blog for the full scoop on how to find and build a quality influencer relationship for your brand.

Day 10 (Friday): Live Q&A Session

Host a live Q&A session on social media to address any questions about the new product. Use interactive features like polls and quizzes to gain even more engagement during your Live. Here’s a quick how-to on setting up a live video on Facebook or Instagram, but text-based AMAs (“Ask Me Anything”) are also very popular on platforms like Reddit where there’s a community for every niche—including yours!

Week 3: Customer Engagement

Day 11 (Monday): Feedback Gathering

Encourage customers to provide feedback through surveys or reviews. Offer incentives for participation to boost participation. Gen Z in particular is more likely to trust reviews than any other form of advertising or recommendation when evaluating brands, so the more positive feedback available online, the better.

Day 12 (Tuesday): Address Concerns

Monitor social media and customer support channels to address any concerns or questions promptly. This includes your Google My Business listing and logs for any chatbots your brand uses on its website or digital networks. Should any corrective measures or operational delays be needed in response, make sure to communicate transparently to your audience—your brand’s reputation can only benefit from putting your customers’ quality experience first over quick-fix patch jobs.

Day 13 (Wednesday): Exclusive Webinar/Event

Host an exclusive webinar or online event showcasing the benefits and features of your new product. This can be a great opportunity to dive deeper into the anecdotes that brought the need for this product/service to your attention, the behind-the-scenes development of the product, expressing gratitude to those who worked to create it, and addressing questions that came up during your Launch AMA or in online feedback. This event will be more formal than your Live, with a scripted rather than reactive format.

Day 14 (Thursday): Social Media Challenges

Launch social media challenges or contests related to your product to encourage user participation. Giveaways are a popular option for this on Instagram, which has the added benefit of boosting your algorithmic reach if Liking/Commenting/Sharing is a criterion for entry. This can also be another email capture strategy.

Day 15 (Friday): User-generated Content Showcase

Highlight user-generated content on your website and social media. Acknowledge and reward customers who share their experiences. This can include tagging/linking to their profile, sending them a discount code or freebie add-on, or even sending them a complimentary PR package. By sharing happy customer content with your audience, you’re helping create a community of users who feel like they’re part of your business experience rather than a faceless revenue source.

Week 4: Expand Reach

Day 16 (Monday): Influencer Takeovers

Allow influencers to take over your social media accounts for a day to share their experience with your product. This collaboration will help bring their audience to your brand and create curiosity among users outside your usual reach. Instagram, TikTok, and X are all popular platforms for takeovers.

Day 17 (Tuesday): Blog Post Publication

Publish blog posts or articles related to your product, addressing industry trends and how your product meets customer needs. These publications may be more technical than your content or focus more on the innovations or impacts of your operational process. A great platform for this type of content is LinkedIn.

Day 18 (Wednesday): Paid Advertising Campaign

Invest in targeted paid advertising campaigns on social media and other platforms to reach a broader audience. While you can do a quick-and-cheap Boost to your existing launch posts, we recommend formulating a full campaign to more effectively tailor your audience targeting and distribution settings. Check out our Paid Ads blogs for tips and insights for running ad campaigns on specific platforms.

Day 19 (Thursday): Partnership Announcement

Announce partnerships or collaborations with other businesses to amplify your reach through cross-promotion. This could include mutual discount codes, co-hosting an event, guesting on each other’s videos/podcasts/blogs, and more. Making a public collaboration announcement will be especially important if you partnered during the development of the product or service regarding materials, designs, certification/training, or significant consultation.

Day 20 (Friday): Trending Formats

Leverage trending formats on social media to increase visibility, like using top audio or current carousel styles. Create content that aligns with popular trends in your industry, and be careful not to just chase trends or memes that are incongruent with your brand voice, industry tone, or business values. Be aware of the timing of this content as well, since trends can rise and fade quickly on social media.

Week 5: Offer Enhancements and Closing Strategy

Day 21 (Monday): Updates Based on Feedback

Implement any necessary updates or improvements to your product based on customer feedback. As we mentioned before, be transparent and communicative with your audience about any delays or glitches while you make backend updates. Use inclusive language that centers your customers and audience in this process, letting them know that they were instrumental in your knowledge and movement on important updates.

Day 22 (Tuesday): Limited-time Enhancements

Introduce limited-time bonuses or features to create urgency among potential customers. If you want to funnel this idea through just one of your digital marketing strategies (email, Instagram Group, influencer collab, etc.) to bolster a specific funnel entry point or increase exclusivity, this is an effective way to segment your audience or test a new lead-generation channel.

Day 23 (Wednesday): Customer Spotlight

Share success stories or testimonials from customers who have benefited from your product. Compared to sharing user-generated content on your social media, this is more of a case study to highlight in your long-form marketing channels, such as your website’s blog or a LinkedIn article. If you also run traditional advertising campaigns, such as television commercials or print magazine spreads, this is an ideal content topic for them.

Day 24 (Thursday): Last Chance Promotion

Create a last-chance promotion to encourage those on the fence to make a purchase. Your limited-time enhancement has to end sometime; make sure everybody knows when! For the visual aspect of this promotion, we recommend using vaguer language like “last chance,” “ending soon,” or “get it before it’s gone,” and then putting the specific date/time in the caption or further down in the text portion. You’ll see why in the next bullet!

Day 25 (Friday): Countdown Timer

Implement countdown timers on your website and in emails to remind customers of the closing offer. This differs from your Last Chance Promotion because it’s a little quieter but more specific. That way, you’re capturing the attention of customers with big-picture and minute-detail mindsets. The awareness created by the Last Chance Promotion shifts to urgency with the countdown timer.

Day 26-30 (Monday-Friday): Post-launch Analysis and Optimization

  • Analyze the performance of your launch. Gather data on website traffic, conversion rates, and social media engagement. Identify areas for improvement and plan for future marketing efforts. Every promotional campaign is more than a profit strategy – it’s also a learning experience.

More than a Month of Digital Marketing Expertise

As you plan out your strategies for 30 days and beyond, here are a few evergreen assets and insights to help you maintain momentum:

  • Personalization: Tailor your email campaigns and website experience based on user preferences and behavior. The content, products, or services they’re most interested in are more likely to reach and stay in front of them more effectively. Plus, your customers will appreciate the extra effort to provide a smooth experience, both creating a better connection with them and bolstering your reputation.
  • Video Content: Video content is king in the current digital landscape. Utilize video content in your social media strategy, such as product demos, testimonials, and behind-the-scenes footage. Make sure to film videos that are optimized or clippable for popular short-form channels like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Interactive Content: Incorporate interactive elements into your social media posts and Stories, such as polls, quizzes, clickable questions, and “Add Yours” features. Not only will this provide more content for you to post as people respond to your prompt, but it will also foster a sense of personal connection and communication with your brand.
  • User-generated Content: Encourage users to create content related to your product and share it on social media. Then reshare and give a shout-out to their content, and thank them for sharing. This will, again, add to your cache of shareable content and foster more meaningful connections with your audience.
  • Social Commerce: If applicable, leverage social media platforms for direct selling and enable shopping features. By not having to hop between apps or websites, your audience can get from click to cart more quickly. Just be sure to have concise copy, clear visuals, seller configurations, and drip automations all optimized for swift scrolling.

FAQ

Of course! As we said in the beginning, your brand’s launch plan should work for you. Please feel free to customize it based on your specific industry, audience, team capacity, and product/service. This resource is designed to help you get structured and organized, not prescriptive instruction. No marketing strategy is one-size-fits-all, after all!

Not necessarily, but with how fast the digital marketing world revolves through content, we recommend a full month of launch planning so that your new product or service stays at the forefront of your audience’s attention. 30 days gives you ample opportunity to move customers through your marketing funnel, whether their relationship with your brand starts brand new or if they’re already loyal supporters. Plus, having this specific plan and structure in place will help your digital marketing team prepare enough content in advance while still adapting to emerging feedback, trends, or technological challenges.
