Go Getter Group’s 2024 Favorites For #GivingTuesday

Tis the season of giving!  This year has seen many global revelations, but one thing that’s remained constant is the spirit of generosity. So many have donated, demonstrated, and shared resources to advocate for safety, health, and compassion. We’re so thankful for all the spectacular charitable organizations out there who do this good work!

When considering where to direct your own charitable action this #GivingTuesday, however, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by that wealth of options. So, to help you refine your selection process, we offer some of our favorites:

From Sonja, our co-founder:

From Kylie, our social media assistant:

  • The Muhammad Ali Center for Humanity and Justice, which curates community-engaged programs designed to foster respect, challenge systems of oppression, and promote positive social change.
  • Wet’suwet’en land defenders, a group of Indigenous Wet’suwet’en Nation activists and allies that peacefully protest against the Coastal GasLink Pipeline being built on Wet’suwet’en territory.
  • BDS, a movement calling for and educating on boycotting, divesting, and sanctioning in support of Palestinian human rights.
  • Save the Children, a humanitarian organization who help children in crisis around the world stay healthy, educated, and safe.
  • The Trevor Project, a crisis intervention and suicide prevention organization for LGBTQ+ youth.
  • Native Land Digital, an Indigenous-led Canadian non-profit that’s created an interactive map to represent and educate on Native territories, land acknowledgements, and the history and impact of colonialism.

This is of course not an exhaustive list of amazing goodwill organizations. We encourage you to research who caters to your local community, as well as widespread ones working on causes you’re passionate about. May you be the gift that keeps on giving. Happy holidays!
